Great combi drill; 3 batteries means you have spare to use in other DeWalt tools
Having just spent a day drilling 2cm holes into thick concrete, I'm please to say that I'm very happy with my new DeWalt DC725. This drill has a small form factor which makes it perfect for getting into tight spaces but it feels solid and very well built. The rubberised housing around the back of the drill makes it easy to grip and apply pressure with both hands. Although this isn't a light drill (don't let the size fool you) it's incredibly torquey and feels much more powerful than my previous 18V combi drill. The inclusion of 3 batteries is a further bonus because it means you have a spare battery which you can use to power other DeWalt powertools (you can buy DeWalt tools 'bare' (without batteries)). Would strongly recommend to anyone who needs a small, professional quality, hammerdrill.

Expensive, but worth it
As there seems to be several combinations of this drill around, I will be clear and say I bought the BHP451RFE LXT drill, complete with 2 batteries, a depth gauge, a side handle and a charger. It came with a huge case that has a section for an impact driver, complete with an instruction book for the impact driver - not quite sure why! But the case is very well made, and has separate compartments for drill bits and screws, so I guess it'll be useful - and I'm happy with the price.

The drill is beautifully made, and feels really sturdy - if rather heavy. There's a huge amount of torque, and it feels like it will cope with anything. The speed-changing switch is rather stiff, and is sometimes hard to move to the '1' setting, but I guess it will ease with use. The instruction book confirms it might be stiff, and says the drill might need to be run in each speed setting for a second before moving the switch. A nice but simple touch is the job-light that stays on for 15 seconds after use. Also, the keyless chuck is superb - easy to use and no more lost chuck keys! All in all, a good bit of kit and I'm very pleased with it.

I bought this item from Ideabright Ltd and it should be noted that I had problems with delivery - it eventually arrived 12 days after I placed the order. Ideabright told me I needed to call FedEx who finally managed to find the order and said they had made 4 attempts to deliver but were unable to find our house (not hard - no one else has problems) so they had given up. Pity they didn't phone me, or Ideabright, to let me know. It was only after several more heated calls to FedEx that it was finally delivered to my daughter's school - FedEx were still unable to find the house even after detailed and clear instructions. For some reason they don't use SatNav, maps, or... common sense.

Just the best cordless kit available
£350 when £35 will buy you two 18v drills at lidl?? Hard to justify? Yes, but then again no. Having purchased a Makita 18v NiCad combi i was so impressed i stumped up the £1600 for the drill, impact driver(the best piece of kit in the World), Circ saw and angle grinder (useful but not a substitute for my 2,200w 5" grinders (but how many people use 3HP 5" grinders???).

This kit is just so good, the build quality is fantastic and the power and battery life is stunning.

The impact driver is beyond compare - it will drive 6" (self cutting - no pilot drill) coach bolts into hard wood AND single handed, this is the amazing thing there is no reverse torque tearing it out of your hands!!

Well enough - its serious kit and £350 is a lot but its worth it!
